Globally, RMHC has seen tremendous growth in their services to support children in hospitals worldwide. Many RMHC chapters are expanding beyond their traditional core services to strengthen their family-centered care mission to deliver more innovative services that tend to their emotional needs.
Similarly, RMHC Singapore is excited to explore new ideas aimed at strengthening its relevance and support for families and children at the National University Hospital. We’re most happy to share with you the birth of the “Happy Wheels Cart” programme—a new project by RMHC Singapore!
With the opening of the Khoo Teck Puat – National University Children’s Medical Institute (KTP-NUCMI), RMHC Singapore thus initiated the Happy Wheels Cart Programme at the centre in April 2019. Its main goal is to create a positive experience – a little treat and a smile – for children and their families during their visits to the centre. At least twice a week, volunteers of RMHC Singapore will manage the “Happy Wheels Cart” offering simple snacks and beverages courtesy of our kind sponsors.
This outreach will enable more families to learn about RMHC Singapore and our mission, so that more people will get to know how the Charity can support families and their children on their healing journeys.
